Orchid Insurance, an Arrowhead Intermediaries company, is seeking an Underwriting Tech I to join our growing team in Tampa or Vero Beach, FL.

The Underwriting Tech I is responsible for learning and developing underwriting skills in personal lines insurance. This role involves gaining proficiency in underwriting new business, renewal business, and / or inspection processes to inform risk decisions and ensure alignment with company and carrier objectives. The Underwriting Tech I will work under the guidance and mentorship of experienced underwriters to build technical skills and knowledge.

How You Will Contribute :

• Learn underwriting discipline to make determinations to approve, modify, or escalate risks based on underwriting guidelines of the carrier, with guidance and direct mentorship from experienced underwriters.
• Build technical underwriting skills through training and hands-on learning, gaining experience in account reviews, underwriting thought processes, and file documentation, including underwriting decisions, approvals, correspondence, and follow-ups under supervision.
• Gain knowledge of how to process underwriting referrals or other assigned work / risk reviews.
• Provide support for team Inbox and / or Dashboard by working assigned tasks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with agents and clients by responding to inquiries in accordance with SOPs, ensuring clarity in communication, and delivering customer-centric solutions.
