Industrial Superintendent
Our client is one of the most well-established general contractors in the Indianapolis construction market. They were recently voted general contractor of the year earning over $500M in revenue last year alone. They have extended their project pipeline into 2029, leveraging their strong client relationships to earn repeat work. As they continue to win work they are looking to add an experienced superintendent onto the team to help lead and grow with the company long term.
Job Description
Daily responsibilities for this role include the following :
- Walk the job site and check in with subcontractors (subs)
- Check and manage the daily construction schedule
- Ensure the site is clean and safe at the end of each day
- Lead "Stretch Inflexions" (daily stretching exercises to prevent injuries and track worker health)
- Supervise all field work - manage trades and subs (can be managing up to 500 workers, sometimes with multiple supers on large sites)
- Develop daily and weekly plans and procedures for the site
- Create and manage a 3-6 week look-ahead schedule to plan upcoming tasks (some companies use 2-4 weeks)
- Coordinate everything onsite with the Project Manager (PM)
- Keep daily logs and upload photos to Procore (project management software) to track progress and document issues
- Communicate necessary changes for change orders (example : adjusting wall widths, adding extra work)
- Lead client walkthroughs and OAC meetings (Owner, Architect, Contractor) onsite
