Job Description
The Environmental Services Technician III plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary healthcare environment. This position supports the effective operations of the Environmental Services department by performing advanced, high-level cleaning and disinfecting tasks across patient care units, treatment rooms, restrooms, nursing stations, offices, waiting areas, and additional assigned areas.
The EVS Tech III uses approved cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies while following all departmental policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. This role is responsible for removing trash and linens, maintaining cleanliness standards, and upholding professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct.
The Technician III is expected to demonstrate exceptional customer service, "own" patient and customer interactions, and perform high-priority, time-sensitive cleaning assignments in critical clinical environments, including isolation rooms, operating areas, and emergency departments. This position also performs specialty floor care and carpet maintenance, including stripping, refinishing, extraction, and terminal disinfecting.
Additionally, the EVS Tech III may support Linen Services by distributing, stocking, and maintaining inventory of clean linens; transporting linen carts; and ensuring linen rooms remain clean and organized.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and disinfecting of assigned areas in accordance with hospital and departmental standards.
- Complete high-level, time-sensitive disinfection tasks in critical patient care areas such as isolation rooms, OR / operative suites, ED, and discharge / terminal cleans.
- Perform advanced specialty cleaning functions including floor care (stripping, refinishing) and carpet care (extraction, terminal disinfecting).
- Safely operate a variety of cleaning equipment (vacuums, extractors, bovac, roto, etc.).
- Remove trash and linen from designated areas and ensure proper disposal.
- Maintain working knowledge of departmental SOPs, quality control expectations, and preventive maintenance requirements.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and communicate clearly with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Recognize emergency or urgent situations and respond appropriately.
- Assist with Linen Services, including stocking, transportation, and inventory management.
- Uphold all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required :
