Job Summary :
The Satellite Operator (SatOps) will be a vital member of the team, responsible for ensuring the operational success of satellite missions.
This role demands a strong background in satellite systems, acute attention to detail, and a commitment to the flawless functioning of space technologies.
This is a fantastic role for a recent graduate from an Remote sensing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science background.
Essential Job Functions and Desired Accomplishments :
- Perform daily monitoring and commanding tasks for satellites and ground network operations.
- Monitor satellite operations, respond to alarms, and coordinate troubleshooting activities.
- Execute commands and procedures on satellites, ensuring nominal and anomalous operations.
- Support payload operations and assist in spacecraft anomaly analysis.
- Monitor the ground station network and assist with pass activities.
- Conduct regular checks on spacecraft performance trends and contribute to analysis reports.
- Maintain shift logs and participate in shift briefings.
- Assist in documenting Satellite Operations procedures.
- Attend required trainings and meetings.
Education / Qualifications / Certifications :
Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (remote sensing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science) or higher.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in written and oral communication.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule including holidays, weekends, and night shifts.
- Ability to obtain clearance.
Desired :
- Experience in Satellite Operations.
- Scripting or Python programming experience.
- Familiarity with Linux OS and commercial cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure).
