Job Description :

The English Language Institute seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty members to teach English as a Second Language in-person at several Westchester County locations on various schedules. Candidates will provide English language instruction to a culturally diverse student body and will use a communicative, student-centered approach to increase students' English language skills.

Requirements :

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : The successful candidate must possess either :

• Bachelor's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics or a related field; OR
• Bachelor's degree and a TESOL Certificate recognized by an accrediting body with a minimum of 20 hours of teaching practice and observation.

Substitution Qualifications : Consideration may be given to candidates with an ESL / ESOL / EFL / TESOL / TEFL / CELTA / DELTA certificate or related, and / or those with one or more years of teaching experience with adult learners.

The successful candidate must also possess a commitment to communicative language teaching, student-centered methodologies, continued professional development, and the goals and mission of a community college.
