Summary
Ivy Tech Community College of Evansville seeks a full-time faculty member to teach Psychology courses on our Evansville, IN campus.
This is an in-person role requiring on campus instruction.
The fascinating field of human psychology focuses on behavior and the mind. Instructors in this discipline are primarily focused on teaching, rather than research.
They come to the classroom with practical experience in the field and are preparing students to pursue a four-year degree, or higher, in the subject.
Major Responsibilities :
PROGRAM OPERATION :
- Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
- Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
- Maintain student attendance and grading records according to college policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
- Submits requested information within established timelines.
STUDENTS :
- Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions / provide assistance.
- Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
INSTRUCTION :
- Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
- In event of emergency absence, notifies program / department chair.
- Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Hiring Range :
$45,000-60,000 per 9-month academic year, based on experience.
Work Hours :
This is a full-time position. Specific hours will depend on classes assigned but may include evenings.
This position is expected to start in August 2024.

Education, Experience And Other Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Possesses a master's degree, or higher, in psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social psychology, or any other professionally recognized specialty in psychology,
Possesses a master's degree, or higher, in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in psychology-related courses, including a course in statistics and / or research methodology.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience
Experience providing instruction at a post-secondary institute.
