Position Summary
The following description is provided to give a general idea of duties and responsibilities of the position. Workload is demanding and often varied.
Additional duties may be assigned as required.
Urban Stream Maintenance (2 positions) : Operate light equipment / vehicles and use power equipment such as chain saws and gas-powered weed-eaters for maintenance of urban streams and detention ponds.
Assist in inspecting and testing wastewater collection and stormwater systems. Assists in cleaning, maintaining, and repairing the wastewater collection and stormwater systems.
Assists in maintaining access to system manholes, taps and lines. Assists in connecting, removing, and replacing service line hook-ups for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
Assists in performing preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems. Assists with stormwater permit activities including data collection, riparian planting, door hanger distribution, and storm drain marking.
Casual, Non-represented positions
30-40 hours per week, limited duration
Hours may include overtime and weekends
Must meet all qualifications and requirements as listed in the Position Description .
Essential Functions
Combination of education, training or experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
Must be able to perform manual labor for extended periods of time under adverse weather conditions; climb ladders and stairs;
work in confined spaces; stand or walk for extended periods of time; bend, push, and squat; sufficient knowledge and manual dexterity to use hand and power tools.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be 18 years or older.
Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid Oregon Drivers License.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background / criminal history check.
