Subject to Grant Funding? : No Essential Job Functions : 1. Develops and implements neurophysiology safety programs.

2. Orders and maintains laboratory supplies and equipment.

3. Ensures the laboratory follows all applicable regulations including company policies and adherence to university guidelines.

4. Calibrates, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment malfunctions.

5. Manages scheduling of neurophysiology studies for both clinical care and research protocols.

6. Prepares patients for neurophysiology tests, such as EEGs, EMGs, and nerve conduction studies.

7. Conducts neurophysiology tests under the supervision of a neurologist.

8. Records and assists in interpretation of neurophysiology test results.

9. Manages clinical inventory for laboratory and office patient exam rooms.

10. Manages the archiving maintenance of patient testing.

11. Maintains a clean and well-organized production area.

12. Prepares patients and equipment for instrumental procedures.

13. Provides patient education and counseling pre and post procedure.

14. Participates in community outreach and health promotion activities organized by Neuroscience Institute leadership.

15. Completes special projects as assigned.

16. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Marginal Job Functions : Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities : Knowledge :

1. Administration and Management Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

2. English Language Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

3. Medicine General knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human diseases or disorders.

This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventative health-care measures.

4. Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment :

1. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

2. Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.

3. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.

4. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and / or prolonged periods of sitting and / or standing in performance of job duties.

5. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment / supplies, including but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards.

Job Requirements : Required Certifications / Licensures : 1. Nerve Conduction Technologist certification.

2. American Board Registration of Electrodiagnostic Testing (Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist).

3. National Phlebotomy Certification.

4. Basic Life Support Certified.

Required Education : Bachelor’s degree Major (if required) : Required Experience : Ten (10) or more years of experience in neurological diagnostic testing, training and neurodiagnostic education.
