About the Role : As the Business Development Representative, you’ll be Root+Beta’s biggest advocate and on the front lines of our growth. Your mission is to generate qualified leads and build a strong sales pipeline by identifying, connecting with, and qualifying prospective partners.

You’ll be responsible for opening doors, creating new opportunities, and then handing those opportunities off to our Account Team who close the business and nurture the relationship. Once the handoff is complete, you’re already onto the next lead, hungry to create the next opportunity that fuels Root+Beta’s growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect for new leads through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and industry research.
  • Pitch Root+Beta’s capabilities clearly and persuasively to decision-makers.
  • Qualify prospects by understanding their needs, challenges, and fit with Root+Beta’s services.
  • Demonstrate the value Root+Beta provides, grounded in a strong knowledge of our offerings, values, and differentiators.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of the digital landscape, industry trends, and local market dynamics.
  • Set up introductory meetings and discovery calls for senior sales and account leaders.
  • Maintain accurate activity and pipeline updates in our CRM.
  • Meet or exceed weekly / monthly targets for outreach and qualified opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and account teams to refine messaging and outreach strategies.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time to represent Root+Beta at trade shows, conferences, and key prospect meetings.

  • Effectively passing opportunities to the account team for closing and long-term management.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Agriculture Industry Experience - Professional background in the agriculture industry and understand how agribusinesses operate.
  • Sales Experience - Proven success generating leads, qualifying prospects, developing new business, and closing sales.
  • Marketing and Media Knowledge - Familiarity with marketing services, specifically paid media, to effectively communicate agency capabilities and sell Root+Beta services.
  • Salary Description

    $80,000 base salary plus a competitive 10% commission on agency gross income and three month guaranteed base at a negotiated rate
