Job description

Human Resources Director

Bloomington Meadows Hospital (a Universal Health Services affiliated facility) is a mental health care and addiction recovery facility for youth and adults in Bloomington, Indiana. They have served the community for over 30 years. Their services include medically supervised detox, inpatient, and outpatient programming, and aftercare support. They also offer dedicated programming for children, adolescents, young adults, seniors, persons with HIV / AIDS, persons with hearing impairments, and persons with co-occurring addiction and mental illness.

Position Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate, results-driven Human Resources Director to join our healthcare leadership team at Bloomington Meadows Behavioral Hospital, located in Bloomington, Indiana. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of human resources practices, preferably in a health care setting. The Human Resources Director is responsible for providing overall human resources generalist support for the facility, which includes recruiting for vacant positions, facilitating general employee orientations, maintaining all personnel records and files, facilitating employee benefits enrollment, providing guidance and support to supervisors with respect to employee performance management; responding to unemployment compensation correspondence, and organizing all employee activities and in-services. This is not a remote position.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field.
  • Current SPHR / PHR certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience : A minimum of five (5) years' experience in Human Resources. At least two years' experience working in Human Resources within a healthcare setting highly preferred. Must have previous Supervisory or Director-Level experience.
  • Additional Requirements : Prefer candidates with good understanding of HR related Joint Commission Standards and be familiar with the Joint Commission Survey process. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have experience working with advanced applicant tracking systems (ATS). Good general computer knowledge, in Word and Excel, and ability to prepare HR reports.
  • Additional Skills : Knowledge regarding Federal and State employment laws such as FMLA, ADA. Knowledge of recruitment and selection practices, benefits, worker's compensation, compensation, employee relations Strong project and time management skills, to ensure on-time execution of processes. Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills Excellent organizational skills Demonstrated leadership skills Tech savvy; ability to navigate using multiple HR systems and skilled in working with HRIS systems such as LAWSON or WORKDAY.
  • Hours of Work : Business hours : 8am - 5pm; Ability to work occasional overtime and flexible hours as requested.
