General Information :

James Madison University's Libraries is seeking a part-time Media Specialist to join the Media Production and Makerspace Services (MPMS) department. MPMS oversees spaces (including a makerspace : and production studio : ) that are used to collaborate with the JMU community to create, explore, instruct, and problem-solve using cutting-edge technologies, multimedia equipment, workshops, and events.

The Media Specialist would assist in the creation of media production projects that are used for instructional work throughout JMU. Media production projects include video, audio, still and motion graphics, 3D modeling, and photography.

This position would work individually and with a team to provide technical advice and assistance to patrons in studio spaces, providing support in the studios. This position will also work with Makerspace Instructors to design and provide workshops on audio, video, and / or studio production.

Duties and Responsibilities :

The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to be flexible depending on the university and Libraries' calendars. Hours may not be available when the university is closed or on breaks.
