About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Strategy and Corporate Development to take the lead on identifying, evaluating and executing on opportunities to drive growth and / or operational excellence. The work mirrors the work found at top venture capital / private equity firms, investment banks, and strategy consulting firms. Key activities include evaluating M&A opportunities, investigating strategic opportunities, designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative research and analyses, and presenting findings to leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Strategy

  • Identify core and critical issues to business performance and clearly communicate strategy, progress, and results across organizational boundaries and levels
  • End to end ownership for high priority cross functional strategic projects, from ideation through to implementation and tracking
  • Identify new opportunities to accelerate our core businesses, while also driving evaluation of future growth opportunities
  • Research new markets, identify key trends, and translate data into actionable insights

M&A

  • Drive the entire M&A process including creating inorganic strategies, market scans, target valuation, due diligence, and deal negotiations
  • Partner with business leaders on strategy development, including identifying product gaps, evaluating build / buy / partner options, and collaborating on target selection criteria
  • Develop pipeline of prospective targets
  • Partner with key business unit partners to evaluate opportunities and drive to informed decisions
  • Support M&A and investment opportunities through negotiation, execution, and due diligence, including financial modeling and valuation
  • Guide and support post-acquisition integration efforts
  • Develop network of industry contacts, venture capital firms, and investment banking / advisory executives to bring knowledge of market trends and opportunities to bear on strategic discussions
  • Qualifications and Skills :

  • 10+ years experience at a leading management consulting, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or business development role in a high growth technology company. Insurance experience highly preferred
  • Excellent valuation / analytical skills, creativity in problem solving, and a keen business sense
  • Superior communication (written / verbal), presentation and meeting facilitation skills
  • Ability to flex between high-level strategic thinking and deep-dive analytical problem solving
  • Agile self-starter with desire to own and be accountable for projects
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible work environments
  • The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000 - $245,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
