Summary
We are seeking an experienced Application Developer I to design and deploy secure, scalable Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions within AWS GovCloud or equivalent high-compliance environments.
The ideal candidate will possess 7 to 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering with a strong background in DevOps practices.
Proficiency in Terraform is required, with additional familiarity in Pulumi being highly preferred.
This role focuses on optimizing VDI performance and reliability while enhancing the end-user experience for employees accessing these environments.
Collaboration with Security, IT, and Compliance teams is essential to ensure that the solution architecture aligns with organizational policies.
Responsibilities include developing infrastructure-as-code templates using best practices, creating detailed documentation for knowledge transfer, and providing training sessions for internal teams. Candidates should have hands-on experience implementing VDI solutions in regulated industries such as government or healthcare while adhering to compliance frameworks like FedRAMP or NIST 800-171.

Responsibilities
Design and deploy secure, scalable Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions in AWS GovCloud or equivalent high-compliance regions.
Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates using Terraform with an emphasis on Pulumi as a complementary skill.
Optimize performance, reliability, and end-user experience for VDI environments through continuous monitoring and proactive adjustments.
Collaborate with Security, IT, and Compliance teams to ensure solution architecture aligns with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Prepare comprehensive documentation covering architecture design, implementation processes, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices for internal knowledge transfer.
Conduct training sessions for internal teams to enhance understanding of VDI operations and support strategies.
Engage in regular stakeholder review meetings to evaluate project progress and adjust strategies as needed based on feedback.
Assess emerging technologies that may improve existing VDI solutions while ensuring compliance requirements are maintained effectively.
Assist in incident response by diagnosing issues related to VDI access or performance efficiently.
Requirements
Level 4 experience (senior-level, expert-level individual contributor).
Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying secure VDI solutions, particularly within AWS GovCloud or equivalent high-compliance regions.
Proficient in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) frameworks with strong capabilities in Terraform; familiarity with Pulumi is highly desirable.
Extensive background in cloud infrastructure engineering, specifically delivering production-ready systems across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Adept at collaborating with Security, IT, and Compliance stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational policies while optimizing performance and reliability of VDI environments.
Strong communication skills for effectively conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; excellent documentation practices are essential for knowledge transfer purposes.
Hands-on experience supporting incident response efforts related to VDI access or performance issues is required.
