Director For Oncology Navigation

This position will lead Carilion Clinic's Oncology Navigation Team. Within area of responsibility, collaborates with senior management, directors, physicians, nursing, allied health staff, patients and vendors internal and external to the health care environment to work through processes and situations. Decisions have impact on quality of services and care, fiscal results, attainment of goals and development and retention of employees.

Responsibilities include :

• Provides leadership for and monitors operational goals, objectives, and budgets.
• Plans budget, monitors revenues, patient care indicators, and manages operating costs.
• Communicates, organizes, prioritizes, leads, facilitates, coaches, and problem solves with reporting staff.
• Works cooperatively with other service line leaders to carry out and monitor new health care services and performance improvement initiatives.
• Manages multiple departments and staff to assure cost effectiveness and achievement of goals and budgets.
• Plans implementation of directives, standard policies, and procedures.
• Plans for growth, staffing, services, educational opportunities, and performance improvement.
• Provides staff opportunities for professional growth and development.
• Responsible for operational plans and fiscal management including budget development, implementation, and monitoring.
• Supports service line mission and meets goals and scorecard objectives.

What we require :

Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent 8 years of experience required. Masters degree preferred.

Experience : 5-7 years experience in management, preferably health care environment.

Licensure, certification, and / or registration : Licensure and / or certification in medical or management related discipline.

Other Minimum Qualifications : Leadership, planning, and organizational skills to manage multiple departments and to direct the successful completion of initiatives and achievement of fiscal goals. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication abilities to support and promote a respectful, inclusive culture of service excellence. Proven skills in clinical, operational, and human resource management, including staffing, planning, performance management, teamwork, and process improvement.
