Your Opportunity + Impact

The Project Surveyor will coordinate and direct survey crews and office staff to ensure projects are completed within technical, budgetary, project, and timeline goals.

This position is responsible for collaboration with other departments as well as project team members. The Project Surveyor is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations, and requirements.

This position will manage a specific discipline of a multi-discipline project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews projects for compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Develops scopes and fees for small and moderate size projects for specific discipline.
  • Maintains client contact and provides regular progress reports.
  • Ensures complete work follows company standard QA / QC procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities for new projects and lead / assist with developing leads into new business.
  • Prepares clear and concise written correspondences for internal and external circulation.
  • Provides work task time estimates to lead / assist with proposal preparation.
  • Develops a network of professional contacts through involvement in thought leadership, civic, and technical organizations.
  • Responsible for reviewing calculations and drawings for correctness and completeness.
  • Responsible for all technical aspects of project and overall completeness and quality of work.
  • Directs, mentors, guides, and conducts evaluations for team.
  • Coordinates submittals and other project components.
  • Assists with internal training programs as needed.

Education + Experience :

  • Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, Engineering, or related field of study.
  • Experience : Minimum of ten (10) years job-related experience.
  • Licensure / Certification : Valid Professional Surveyor's License in OH is required. Other state surveying licenses a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Surveying software.
  • Experience with Terrestrial LiDAR and UAV preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret technical documents to ensure compliance of contract documents.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, be self-motivated, and have the desire to learn and grow.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must possess valid Driver’s License.
