Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position in California, requiring a current CA RN license and PICU expertise.
Responsibilities
Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) caring for patients from birth to 18 years oldDay shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7 : 00 to 19 : 30Every other weekend requiredNo call requirementsFloating required, primarily to NICU and CVICU but possible to other units as neededUtilizes Cerner for documentation and chartingResponsible for advanced critical care of infants, children, and adolescents in a high-acuity settingExpected to work two of the three major holidays during the contractMaximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed, with none permitted in the first week of the assignmentFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyTravelers are the first to float to other units as neededOnline training modules are required during orientationPositions are not open to local candidates who reside within 50 miles of the facilityIndividuals who were staff must be separated for at least one year before applying for a travel positionAdditional screening may apply for candidates who were previously employed at merged facilitiesRequirements
Active CA RN license in hand at time of applicationMinimum 1.5 years of recent, high-acuity / high-census PICU RN experienceCurrent certifications : BLS, ACLS, and PALSExperience with arterial lines, conscious sedation, CRRT, ECMO, metabolic, respiratory, endocrinology, oncology, neurosurgical and cardiology critical care, and level 1 trauma patientsMust have prior experience in reputable, high-volume, high-acuity facilitiesRecent supervisor-level references required from relevant PICU unitsBenefits
