Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Calculate, process, and audit all required PeopleSoft compensation transactions including new hires, position changes, resignations / retirements, and stipends to support timely payroll processing for district employees
- Provide support with payroll reviews to ensure accuracy of paychecks
- Respond to Talent Connection issues and concerns
- Receive and respond to pay related inquires
- Serve as liaison for other departments regarding leaves, absence balances and contract pay
- Monitor all documentation to determine accuracy of information, promoting PeopleSoft data integrity
- Utilize queries in HRIS system to verify and validate data
- Assist the in the development and implementation of contract pay policies and procedure manuals
- Assist and troubleshoot issues before escalating to the next level
- Assist with the training of new staff on procedures, processes, and payroll updates
- Serve as a resource and assist in resolving complex questions and issues
- Assist with implementation of system projects, enhancements, and upgrades
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
- Provide assistance with employee orientation
- Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations
- Provide ongoing advice, assistance and guidance concerning continuous improvement of workflow processes

- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll support role
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a payroll support role and a Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field may be accepted in lieu of three years experience
- Demonstrated experience with People Soft; experience in compensation, HRIS, or payroll
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of personal computers and software
- Proficiency with PC operation including word processing, excel spreadsheets, and databases
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines, including payroll processing
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both orally and written
