Description The Clinical Nurse Specialist demonstrates an advanced level of professional competence in a specialized field of nursing.

The primary roles of the Clinical Nurse Specialist include : practitioner, educator, leader, consultant and researcher. Within each role the Clinical Nurse Specialist uses problem solving strategies and the nursing process to improve outcomes.

S / he works collaboratively with the staff and managers to develop criteria for patient care, assess health needs of patients, and evaluate outcomes of nursing interventions.

The time spent in each of the role components varies with patient population, unit and department needs and organizational priorities.

This position has system wide responsibility; CNS staff are required to have transportation to be available at all Swedish Medical Center locations as needed.

Your voice matters here, because we know that to inspire and retain the best people, we must empower them. Required Qualifications : Master's Degree in Nursing with clinical focus from an accredited school of nursing.

Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. 3 years of current nursing experience in related clinical area.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby / on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
