Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and highly independent Financial Risk Analyst to join our team. This role will play a key function in evaluating, measuring, and managing financial and operational risks across the company and our merchant portfolio. Reporting directly to the CFO and CRO, the analyst will design and implement robust risk frameworks, deliver monthly risk reports, and support executive decision-making with actionable insights and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive risk assessment frameworks and processes to identify and monitor financial and operational risks across the company and merchant portfolio.
• Evaluate the financial health and risk exposure of merchant clients, including transaction trends, chargeback ratios, reserve adequacy, and compliance triggers.
• Create and deliver monthly risk assessment reports for review by the CFO and presentation to the Board of Directors.
• Recommend merchant actions such as termination, remediation, or reserve requirement adjustments based on quantitative and qualitative risk indicators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Product, Engineering) to ensure risks are properly identified, escalated, and mitigated.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks that may impact the company's financial stability or operational resilience.
• Build and enhance internal reporting dashboards and tools to support real-time risk visibility.
• Support the CFO and CRO with ad hoc analysis, stress testing, and strategic risk planning initiatives.
• Run the initial and ongoing financial risk reviews for our merchant portfolio

The pay range for this position is $117,000; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This position is open to candidates in our Palo Alto HQ or New York office.
