- Technical Project Manager
- (based out of our
- Palo Alto, CA
- office) to lead the development, release, and delivery of EMR / EHR integration solutions that connect our precision oncology platforms to healthcare provider systems. In this pivotal role, you will enable oncologists and care teams to receive real-time, actionable genomic insights within their existing clinical workflows. You’ll drive agile execution, coordinate complex interoperability projects, and ensure every integration meets the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and security. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, bioinformatics, security, compliance, and external healthcare partners to enhance data interoperability between precision oncology systems and EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, and Allscripts.
- Agile Delivery & Scrum Leadership
- Lead agile teams developing APIs, integration middleware, and FHIR-based data services connecting oncology software to EMR / EHR systems.
- Facilitate all scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives), ensuring strong alignment between technical deliverables and clinical data requirements.
- Coach teams on Agile practice to improve delivery predictability and quality. Ensure integration features meet healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
- Collaborate with Product Owners, integration engineers, and healthcare IT stakeholders to define and prioritize integration backlogs.
- Release Management
- Own the release lifecycle for EMR / EHR integrations — from planning and validation to deployment and monitoring.
- Coordinate cross-functional testing with QA, Clinical Operations, and external EHR vendors.
- Maintain integration release calendars, regression plans, and change management documentation.
- Communicate release scope, timelines, and risks to stakeholders across engineering, compliance, and partner organizations.
- Technical Project Management
- Manage technical projects that support bi-directional integration between oncology diagnostic systems and provider EHRs.
- Define scope, milestones, and success metrics for data exchange initiatives (lab results delivery, order entry, patient matching).
- Partner with internal and external teams to design scalable, secure, and standards-compliant interfaces.
- Oversee development and deployment of APIs and microservices supporting interoperability with major EMR / EHR vendors.
- Ensure documentation and validation artifacts support audit and regulatory readiness.
- Utilize JIRA, Confluence, and similar tools to manage technical tasks, track dependencies, and report progress.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in software delivery, technical project management, or release management within
- healthcare IT or diagnostics.
- Proven track record leading Agile teams delivering
- EMR / EHR integration or healthcare interoperability solutions.
- Understanding of EHR systems
- such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or Allscripts and their integration frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud-based architecture (AWS, GCP) and CI / CD pipelines for healthcare applications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and clinical domains.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly around data integrity and compliance documentation.
- Proactive communicator comfortable managing cross-functional and vendor-facing relationships.
- Adaptable and calm under pressure when managing multiple releases and dependencies.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or PMP certification.
- Experience in oncology, genomics, or diagnostic data systems.
- Familiarity with SMART on FHIR apps, and healthcare API gateway management. Knowledge of regulatory standards such as HIPAA, HITRUST, CLIA, CAP, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
- Experience with validated software processes under a Quality Management System (QMS).
- Exposure to laboratory information systems (LIS / LIMS) and clinical order / result workflows.
- Hybrid Work Model :
- This section is applicable to onsite employees who are eligible for hybrid work location as specified by management and related policies. - The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. This range does not include benefits or, if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need.Primary Location : Palo Alto, CAPrimary Location Base Pay Range : $150,400 - $206,750Other US Location(s) Base Pay Range : $127,800 - $175,750If the role is performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is : $135,400 - $186,100
- Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk / office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment.
