Program Manager

Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled Program Manager to support our client in Detroit, MI. This role requires a strategic and detail-oriented professional who can lead cross-functional initiatives, manage customer relationships, and oversee all program deliverablesfrom prototype through Automotive Retrofit Repair. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and technical expertise to drive project success and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer functions including Product Engineering, Program Management, Launch, Plant, and Supplier Quality teamsfrom PSO kickoff through project completion.
  • Coordinate and track all internal and external program issues, maintaining detailed action lists and closure timelines.
  • Manage and update program timing plans, communicating all customer-driven changes promptly.
  • Lead the successful execution of prototype and preproduction builds.
  • Represent the company in customer and supplier meetings, ensuring alignment on project goals and expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to meet all internal and external standards.
  • Conduct and document supplier meetings throughout PSO and support post-SOP phases.
  • Monitor and report on program health status, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Support customer change meetings and ensure all requirements are fully implemented.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal support teams to ensure consistent communication and successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of accountability.
  • 35 years of experience using MS Word and Excel in a professional setting.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and work overtime when required.
  • Comfortable working in varied environments (automotive shop, OEM tent, yard, etc.).
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the automotive or repair industry strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with OEM systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of CDA / Flash systems is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for cars is highly valued!
