The Senior Manager of Solutions Development is an experienced product and solution development specialist responsible for driving the development, positioning, and launch of innovative services and solutions that address the complex needs of middle-market clients across accounting, tax, advisory, benefits, insurance, and technology services.
This role leverages deep professional services knowledge and project management expertise to collaborate with subject matter experts, develop market-ready offerings, position solutions effectively in appropriate market segments, support go-to-market and cross-serving strategies, and facilitate solution learning across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the end-to-end process for new solution development, from ideation and definition through launch and ongoing improvement.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and service line leaders to identify market trends, client needs, and opportunities for innovative solutions.
- Develop and refine go-to-market strategies, including value proposition, market positioning, pricing, and competitive differentiation for new and existing solutions.
- Drive cross-selling and cross-serving initiatives to maximize client value and firm growth; work closely with marketing and sales teams to promote integrated solutions.
- Facilitate solution training and enablement for client-facing teams, ensuring robust understanding and consistent messaging.
- Manage the CBIZ Solutions App ― the proprietary internal learning tool designed to educate colleagues on enterprise-wide solutions and how to position new solutions / ideas with clients and prospects ― and lead the write-up of new solutions.
- Be an expert in middle-market financial and HR buyer personas in order to inform overall solution development and messaging constructs that appeal to these demographics.
- Apply strong project management methodologies to manage timelines, resources, deliverables, and risks for multiple simultaneous projects.
- Monitor solution performance, client feedback, and market dynamics to inform solutions development, continuous improvement, and lifecycle management ― with analysis and reporting on revenue impact.
- Prepare and present business cases and solution roadmaps to executive leadership for approval and resource allocation.
- Support the integration of technology, automation, and data analytics into new solutions.
- Serve as an internal champion for a solutions-driven mindset, fostering collaboration and innovation across service lines.

Marketing and Business Development teams to inform solution development and lay strategic groundwork for solution-based marketing materials, website positioning, content, research-backed white papers, and other sales enablement toolsClient Experience (CX) Team to gain insight and feedback on client needs, expectations, and value drivers that will inform and sharpen the solution strategy, trigger new solution innovations, and validate new pilot solutionsLearning & Development Team to co-develop new product training modules, co-lead cross-serving learning sessions and optimize the CBIZ Solutions App.Chief Strategy Officer to surface further client insights and sales trends that influence solutions development and strategic product direction, while also enhancing innovation initiativesChief Marketing Officer and Marketing Leaders to participate in enterprise campaigns and distill client buying patterns and insightsIndustry Strategy and Marketing teams to properly position key solutions within appropriate industry segments, thereby enabling smart go-to-market strategies through priority verticalsCRM & Data Analytics Teams to surface client buying patterns, synthesize and distill CX data, understand pricing trends, test hypotheses, and report on solution penetrationPractice Leaders & Client-Serving Subject Matter Expects to spot new solution development opportunities, brainstorm new solution ideas, and refine overall technical specs of new solutions in order to facilitate correct marketing positioningLegal Team on new solution launch elements such as naming and trademarking process, engagement letter templates, and joint-venture or subcontract arrangements.Independence & Professional Standards Teams to vet any and all independence and conflict-of-interest issues that may surround new solution development and market application.Client Opportunity Planning and Key Account Teams to ensure consideration of all applicable solutionsPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, consulting, insurance, marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.7+ years of progressive experience in product development, solution management, or service innovation-ideally within the accounting, consulting, or insurance industries.5 years of experience supervising or managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.Strong understanding of the middle-market landscape and the professional services sector.Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling, and persuasive solution positioning decks, marketing briefs, and business documentation.Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.Proven ability to analyze market data, client insights, and business metrics to drive decisions.Experience in developing training materials and delivering solution enablement programs.Collaborative leadership style with ability to influence, inspire, and drive results in a matrixed environment.Familiarity with modern technology platforms, automation, and analytics toolsMinimum Qualifications
