Location : We are seeking an Sales Coordinator - Full Time for the MOTE Marine Laboratory and Aquarium.

Venue Description : Mote Science Education Aquarium (Mote SEA) is a world-class, 146,000-square-foot facility dedicated to marine science, education, and immersive public experiences at Nathan Benderson Park, a nexus site for Sarasota and Manatee counties. This rebirth of Mote Aquarium is transforming Mote's ability to provide informal science education and enhance ocean literacy for much larger and more diverse populations, including every K-12 student in our community.

Principal Function :

The Sales Coordinator is responsible for creating unique dining experiences by selling, upselling and actively participating in the planning and production of catered functions. Working closely with clients, as well as with the sales, culinary and operations staff, they are responsible for ensuring that events are coordinated and executed smoothly and in accordance with all client expectations and specifications.

The Sales Coordinator will focus on the development, implementation and measurement of the revenue objectives contained within the unit's annual marketing plan. They will direct and manage sales activities to meet revenue objectives and attain the top line financial forecast. This includes developing sales with existing business (forecasted group / local business) and executing strategies to develop new business. The Sales Coordinator will support the planning of and preparation for events according to anticipated attendance, and will provide hands-on management and oversight in the areas of service and F&B operations during events.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS :

Required :

• High school diploma.
• 6 months of experience on a multi-phone line system.
• Strong oral communication and organizational skills.
• Must be adaptable to a variety of tasks and able to work with unscheduled interruptions.
• Excellent verbal and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office and typing skills.
• Ability to participate in a team environment.
• Ability to understand written and oral direction and communicate same with others.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
