QA / QC Manager

From inception to commissioning, we offer complete mechanical contracting and energy services solutions. Our expertise includes design-assist, HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, and process piping construction for semiconductor, data center, healthcare, biotech, water treatment, power generation, and other facilities.

University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. is seeking a QA / QC Manager to lead quality control efforts on mechanical construction projects. The QA / QC Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry codes, project specifications, and safety standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Enhance and maintain comprehensive quality program.
  • Develop and manage welding QC plans and documentation.
  • Review WPS, PQR, and WPQ.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors and clients.
  • Maintain welder certifications and inspection records.
  • Support training and resolve quality issues.

Qualifications

Preferred Education and / or Experience

  • Degree in Welding Tech or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in HVAC or piping systems.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
  • 35 years of welding QC experience in construction.
  • Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API 1104.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., NDT Level II, ASQ).
