What you bring to SBHG (qualifications) :
- Master’s degree in a social science field
- One (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health field OR (1) year of practicum (student internship and / or practicum time may be substituted)
- Registered with the Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as an MFT-Intern, ASW, PCCI, or Psychology Assistant, OR BBS licensed as LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Psychologist
- BBS licensed as LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Psychologist
- Valid California Driver's License
How you will make a difference (job overview) :
This position has primary responsibility for mental health services and case management services to clients and their families referred through Stars’ School-Based Services program.
They Conducts initial and ongoing assessments of the youth and family to identify strengths and needs. Acts as liaison with various external agencies (such as Department of Children and Family Services, Department of Behavioral Health Care Services, Probation Department, Dependency Court, and police) to facilitate youngsters’ adjustment in daily living routines.
Provides services, including individual, family, and group therapy, individual and group rehabilitation, and collateral, to youth and their families, as deemed necessary and appropriate through the assessment process.
Division / Program Overview :
- School based outpatient program
- Provide services at designated school sites and in the community year round
- Services offered : Individual, family and group therapy, parent support groups, case management, collaboration with school staff
- Serve youth ages 5-18 years
- Services offered are trauma informed and culturally responsive
