Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for an Area Sales Manager covering the Western Washington Waterworks division!

This position will have a focus on sales expansion, margin improvement, and market development across the region. The ASM will be responsible for overall sales performance and have oversight of their associates and dotted line reports.

Position Details

6-10 direct reports consisting of outside sales associates.

Market opportunity of $300M - $400M.

Reports to General Manager of the Washington Business Unit.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain key relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure outstanding service levels.

Assign, monitor, and set objectives for key accounts and Sales Representatives to generate sales growth.

Provide leadership and direction for pricing proposals and strategic planning.

Accompany Sales Reps on customer engagement opportunities.

Supervise market activity, sales trends, and play an active role in the sales execution of products.

Design sales plans to capture market opportunities.

Develop, lead, and evaluate a team of outside sales professionals.

Develop and maintain business relationships with strategic business leaders across Waterworks.

Participate in local branch culture and support associate development.

Provide support and solutions to complex and sensitive business scenarios.

Implement data driven decisions using current and future technology (i.e. Salesforce, Bidtracer, Planswift).

Be an active member of local construction organizations (i.e. NUCA, BIAW, ABC)

Requirements

7+ years of sales and management experience in the Waterworks industry preferred or similar relevant industry experience.

Must have a team player mentality.

Familiarity with products and the local market is preferred.

Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate work.

Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.

Ability to lead, mentor and motivate individuals and teams.

Ability to recognize and develop emerging talent.

Ability to maintain composure in high pressure situations.

Servant leadership mentality and ability to serve the needs of the team.

Strategically minded and able to adapt to changing market conditions.

Value engineering experience.

Experience in plan reading, interpretation and creating material estimates.

Ability to travel as required.

Pay Range :

$8,745.30 - $19,057.50

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
