The Behavioral Health Regional Director will :
Oversee the management, resources and operational activities of the Behavioral Health Services Division (BHSD) Behavioral Health (BH) Regional Plans and (BH) Regional Coordinators.How does it get done?
The Behavioral Health Regional Director is responsible for :
Leading the BHSD's management of Regional Plan activities and directly supervise the Behavioral Health (BH) Regional Coordinators. These efforts will play a key role in the operations of the BH Regional staff by developing and planning strategies for mental health promotion, substance abuse prevention and treatment;Medicaid behavioral health services, which are a component of New Mexico's Medicaid program, Turquoise Care, which integrates physical health, behavioral health and long-term care for enrollees;Working with statewide community groups, key stakeholders including tribal partners and fifteen (15) agencies across state government that provide funding or have programs related to behavioral health across New Mexico to achieve these goals;Establishing program systems, structures, policies and procedures, with a focus on maintaining and improving efficiency, effectiveness and quality of services while ensuring programs address the needs of New Mexico citizens;Participating in forecasting and developing budgets, staffing, operational plans; departmental and organizational development; and collaborating with other agencies and departments; participating in legislative activities, such as bill analysis, testifying in front of legislative committees and communicating with legislators and stakeholder engagement;Maintaining and improving external relationships through engagement opportunities and cross-cutting projects;Ensuring that statutory deadlines are met, services are efficiently executed, all program goals are achieved and operating within the guidelines of federal / state laws, regulations and department policies and procedures.Who are the customers?

The ideal candidate possesses the following :
Ability to coordinate programs with other agencies and providing community outreach or other education programs;Experience in Supervision of Staff;Experience in preparation of agreements, contracts, amendments, etc;Experience in community outreach;Experience in writing, monitoring and tracking contracts and agreements;Experience in Microsoft Office.Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a light strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling twelve (12) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include management, supervisory and / or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Office setting, exposure to VisualNideo Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting.
