Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 50 firm : San Francisco, CA – Employment Litigation Associate

Description :

Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 50 firm seeking an Employment Litigation Associate for its San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will have five to seven years of relevant experience in labor and employment law.

Qualifications :

Juris Doctor (JD) required.

Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :

Experience defending class and PAGA litigation matters.

Experience with class and representative actions preferred.

Strong research, writing skills, and academic record.

Experience drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery.

Experience drafting and arguing motions, and conducting depositions.

Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, with experience in employment counseling.

Trial experience is a plus but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands :

This role operates in a professional office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.

Physical Requirements : Sedentary work requiring occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 10 pounds. The role involves prolonged sitting with occasional walking and standing.

Visual Acuity : Requires close visual acuity for tasks such as analyzing data, transcribing, reading extensively, and working with a computer.

Compensation & Benefits :

The salary range for this position is $232,500 - $270,000 , reflecting various factors such as experience, education, licensure, geographic location, and market conditions.

Compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications, and it is not typical for hires to start at the top of the range.
