RAMS, Inc. provides integrated behavioral health services (Mental Health and Substance Abuse) at several San Francisco Wellness Centers located in various San Francisco Unified School District high schools.
The Wellness Centers are a joint project between RAMS, SFDPH and SFUSD.
Essential Job Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Provide trauma, grief and mindfulness groups across 19 of the Wellness Center sites in the public high schools in San Francisco.
- Respond and provide support to Wellness Centers during school-wide crises; roles may include debriefing school communities;
providing short to long term groups; risk assessments for individual students; providing consultation to support staff, parents and students regarding various trauma responses.
Provide culturally appropriate and sensitive school-based mental health and substance abuse services, with emphasis on Trauma-related services, in the forms of crisis intervention & assessments;
mediation & de-escalation; individual & group counseling (ongoing & immediate response, and short-term as needed); and case management & liaison (e.
g. primary care, counseling), and intake assessment, clinical evaluation, and consultation services
Provide outreach & education on mental health and substance abuse services, with emphasis on Trauma / Grief & Loss issues, in community / school-based settings (e.
g. school assemblies, health fairs, parent groups) to students, families of students, school staff, community members, and other professionals in the form of consultation & workshops (e.
g. issues of trauma / grief & loss), and consultation on school climate activities as necessary
- Develop and maintain administrative and treatment records related to client care in accordance to standards specified by funding source and agency's policies
- Provide clinical training and education to staff, trainees, and interns as deemed necessary
- Participate in RAMS internal and / or external trainings as required by the position or agency
- Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Job Info :
- Collaborate with and be part of the coordinated Wellness Center core team member, representing RAMS and as the behavioral health professional of the team
- Perform job assignments primarily at the school sites
- Participate in SAP / SST meetings, as requested
- Participate in Wellness Center weekly team clinical meetings, as needed
- Participate in administrative Wellness Center team meetings at RAMS clinic site
- Provide short term mental health & substance abuse treatment of clients, as clinically indicated.
- Provide crisis intervention, assessments, and triage of students
- Provide consultation, in-service training to school staff, as needed
- Provide group intervention : subject, frequency, and number of students to be determined by Wellness Center team
Minimum Required Educational level & Experience :
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field; licensure as an MFT or LCSW or registration with BBS is highly preferred
- At least one year of experience providing both mental health and substance abuse individual / group services in school-based settings
- At least one year of experience providing youth-based crisis support services in a community-based behavioral health setting;
At least two years of work in public / behavioral health setting
Familiarity with Trauma-Informed youth services.
Other Requirements :
- Familiarity with community behavioral health systems of care in San Francisco, including the philosophy of care, levels of care for clinical services, and the delivery of such services, highly preferred
- Familiarity with the San Francisco community resources / services (which may include health, mental health, substance abuse, vocational, housing, etc), highly preferred
- Strong commitment to the philosophy, goals, & mission of RAMS in providing community-based, culturally competent, and consumer-guided mental health / substance abuse treatment and prevention services to the community
- Commitment to engaging in professional development activities such as trainings, continuing education seminars, case conferences, and reviewing up-to-date material, etc.
as related to treatment strategies for the population of the Wellness Centers Program
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively, function independently, and interact professionally with a diverse, multi-cultural, and interdisciplinary staff of all levels
