TRANSLATOR Job Posting - Prisma International, Inc.

We are seeking experienced, professional Translators  in Alaska to join our independent contractor team.  You will be providing written translation from English into your native / indigenous language. See language list below.  To be considered for hire, you must meet all minimum requirements listed in this job ad. Your resume must include an outline of experience completing written translations.  Other minimum requirements are stated below. Translation project assignments are offered and assigned on an as-needed basis according to your availability.

TARGET LANGUAGES : Yupik (Yup'ik)

Eskimo / Aleut languages : Inupiaq (Inupiak), Alutiiq (Sugpiaq), Unangam Tunuu (Aleut)

Na-Dene languages : Denaakk'e, Gwich'in, Tanana Athabaskan, Dena'ina Athabaskan, Ahtna, Holikachuk, DegXinag, Upper Kuskokwim, Eyak

Tlingit

Haida

Tsimshian

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - You must meet ALL of the following requirements :

• You must reside in the United States (preferably Alaska).
• You must be 18+ years of age.
• Two (2) years (total of 24 months) of professional experience providing written translations in one or more of the above-listed languages. The resume / CV you submit must clearly outline your translation background in at least one of these languages.  Candidates whose resumes do not include a minimum of two years of professional translation experience will be disqualified.
• Bachelor's degree in translation or other language-related discipline from an accredited college or university. Three+ years of professional translation services to local, state or federal government offices may be accepted in lieu of a college degree.
• Willingness to abide by Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA) and related Addenda.
• High proficiency in English and a native speaker of the target language(s).
• Reliable desktop PC or laptop with dedicated, secure, high-speed internet connection.
• Experience using modern CAT tools (e.g. XTM, Trados, etc.).
• Adobe Acrobat on your device and the ability to use Adobe's markup tools on a PDF file.
• Ability to provide two professional references who can vouch for your translation experience.
