Overview
Senior Electrical Engineer 2 at Sargent & Lundy. This is a hybrid position with a mix of work from home and in-office work. Depending on location, relocation package may be available. This design engineering role offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Electrical Engineering and opportunities for career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design engineering efforts on a multi-disciplinary project design team
- Produce engineering calculations, analyses, and reports
- Prepare design inputs for drawing production including electrical site plans, power and lighting plans, one-line diagrams, assembly drawings, conduit and wire run schedules, wiring diagrams, and elementary diagrams
- Apply electrical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components
- Produce procurement and construction specifications
- Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs
- Provide mentorship and guidance in the development of less experienced engineers
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.BSEE or MSEE degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.7+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, ideally in a nuclear environment.Experience with low to medium voltage electrical distribution systems and instrumentation wiring; experience with more than one system type is a plus.Experience with NEC, UL508, electrical codes, and IES Lighting Handbook.Proficiency or ability to learn load flow and arc flash analysis software such as ETAP and / or SKM Power Tools.Proficiency or ability to learn lighting analysis software such as Visual and AGI32.Preferred / Desirable Qualifications
