Full-Time Montessori Preschool Teacher Aide

Big City Montessori School is seeking an energetic, warm, friendly, nurturing, and self-motivated person to join our team and work in a classroom of 25 students, mixed ages 2.

5 years to 6 years. You will be working as part of a four-person team under a highly trained AMI Montessori Head Teacher and alongside two other long-tenured classroom aides.

You will help with classroom and playground supervision, caring for the children’s needs, and light daily set up a clean-up.

Qualifications :

• The ability to attend to each child’s individual needs while fostering independence and self-sufficiency, kindness, cooperation, and respect for themselves, for others and for the environment.
• The ability to be supportive, take initiative and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• To be kind, warm, polite, and respectful to children, coworkers, and families.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.

Requirements & Conditions of Employment :

• Eligible to work in the US
• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
• 12 ECE units (or after you are hired, you are willing to actively work toward acquiring your 12 ECE units)
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs. (the weight of the average preschool child)
• CPR and first aid certified (or willing to get certified)
• Clear criminal background check (fingerprinted)
• TB & Health clearance
• Must be fully vaccinated for Flu, Pertussis, and MMR to ensure compliance with CA State Licensing (or after you are hired, you are willing to get these vaccinations before beginning work)
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to ensure compliance with BCMS enhanced health and safety protocols and to keep yourself and others safe and free from illness (or after you are hired, you are willing to get this vaccination before beginning work)

Hours :

• Full time, year-round
• 8 : 30 am 5 : 30 pm

Compensation :

Big City Montessori School uses a salary scale based on education and years of experience. Hourly rate for this position ranges from $18 to $27 per hour.
