About the team :

The Corporate Communications team at Ventas is responsible for all external and internal communications including media relations, reputation and issues management, executive communications, branding and marketing, talent communications and corporate philanthropy.

The team is committed to supporting Ventas’s business objectives and plays a critical role in protecting and promoting the Company’s brand and reputation among a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.

About the role :

As a key member of the Corporate Communications team, this individual will be responsible for planning and executing communications initiatives for internal and external audiences.

The Manager will interface directly with cross-functional teams and leaders to develop and promote narratives around performance, people, culture and other priorities.

The Manager will support both ongoing and special projects that advance team and Company priorities and enhance efficiency of operations, including working effectively with agency partners to create scale, maximize output and drive quality and consistency.

The successful candidate will help implement corporate messaging to enhance culture and engagement within the Company and drive awareness and appreciation of the Company’s brand among relevant constituencies internally and externally.

The successful candidate will be a highly productive, high-energy self-starter and collaborator who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced and exciting environment.

Critical skillset :

  • Exceptional written and verbal skills to create high-quality and timely communications and content.
  • Fosters effective and collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization. Develops and maintains relationships with key partners across the Company, especially with those departments and individuals that the Communications team partners including IR, HR, Legal, and PR / marketing agencies.
  • Competency / experience to generate creative concepts and oversee efficient and effective execution of visual / multimedia deliverables.
  • Serves as a leading communication strategist for the program(s) supported.
  • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Operates with a sense of purpose and urgency to meet the demands of multiple stakeholders.

  • Resourceful self-starter who is able to manage multiple projects, problem solve creatively, prioritize effectively and deliver consistently.
  • Team player who enjoys a collaborative environment and thrives in a win together work culture.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Establish and scale an internal communications strategy that cascades executive messages and is aligned with business goals and company culture.

Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.

  • Develop content strategy and create compelling content across multiple internal and external channels including internal newsletter, company intranet / portal, social media, website, video and print assets, quarterly meetings.
  • Develop high-quality communications, including organizational announcements, intranet articles, executive remarks, briefing books, talking points, and company presentations.
  • Coordinate development and production of employee communications including written communications, onboarding materials, talent marketing materials.
  • Lead strategic brand activations including event management and execution, gifting and swag strategies and environmental branding.
  • Develop and implement sponsorship strategies to optimize cost, benefit and impact in support of company and brand priorities and objectives.
  • Manage strategic execution of the Company’s philanthropic giving.
  • Manage functional reporting, budget and resource allocation tracking.

Requirements :

Candidate should possess 6+ years of public company experience in marketing, communications and / or event planning and a strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Interested candidate should have a BA / BS Degree in Marketing / Communications / Public Relations or related field. REIT / banking / healthcare / senior housing / financial services experience preferred.

Candidate must possess reasonable familiarity with financial matters.
