Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide support to the Manufacturing team to enable production to meet the ship schedule and provide a high quality product to Parata's customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Manufacturing team to enable production to meet the ship schedule and provide a high quality product to Parata's customers.
- Support the Logistics Team to create HTS Codes (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) for international products and parts; maintain strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
- Provide manufacturing floor operations support to include :
Improve and maintain manufacturing process instructions (MPIs)
Support or lead Lean efforts to improve cell layout, replenishment, 5S, standard work, visual management, and quality at the sourceImprove and maintain Kanbans and other replenishment processes; ensure components are available and properly accounted forMaintain manufacturing BOMs to reflect parts usage in replenishmentSupport or lead manufactured product quality continuous improvement effortsImplement and provide support for new product introductions and existing product changes that impact Manufacturing, using the ECO process and related toolsUnderstand client Parata products and parts shipped internationally, and gather information for Customs classifications from BD Parata systems, websites, and cross-functional departments (engineering, R&D, etc.)Identify required information for Customs classifications and coordinate with cross-functional teamsPerform other duties as assigned to meet business needsAbility to work independently and within a team; provide direction in high-demand situationsQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field; in lieu of degree, relevant experience acceptable1-2 years of related work experience with BS degreeExcellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across departmentsMulti-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasksAppreciation and awareness for manufacturing demand and prioritizationProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience using SolidWorks is a plusReasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions when requestedJob details
