Lab Coordinator
About the Opportunity
This is a hybrid position of a traditional science based lab coordinator. Specifically, the staff is responsible for providing day-to-day support for various lab- and community-based research studies and activities.
This position works closely with the principal investigator to perform responsibilities such as managing and supporting several ongoing lab and community research studies at various stages, performing administrative duties, overseeing lab and project meetings, as well as contributing to and developing a positive lab culture.
This position is ideal for someone looking to gain experience prior to enrolling in a graduate program and has a vested interest in health equity focused research, working with adolescents, young adults, and their families, and community-based research.
Qualifications
Previous research experience related to equity, teens, adolescents, and their family members, or community-based research.
Previous experience conducting both quantitative and qualitative research and lab-based research. Familiarity with frequently used software including SPSS, Atlas.
ti, Qualtrics, Dropbox, Zoom, and Google Workspace. Familiarity with saliva collection and management of samples. High attention to detail, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work with diverse groups of people and be helpful, respectful, approachable, and team oriented, ability to build strong working relationships and a positive work environment, and the ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Appropriate bachelor’s or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 2 years of experience of research in psychology.
One or more years of management experience.
