Environmental Service Technician

We are seeking a passionate and diligent Environmental Service Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of the organizational unit is providing cleaning, sanitizing, and pest control services to over 10 million square feet of campus space. This service is provided through the utilization of over 320 staff members. The overall function of this position is to utilize a standard cleaning assignment to clean and sanitize an area of responsibility within a building. Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to :

• Provide cleaning, sanitizing, and pest control services across 10 million square feet of campus space
• Utilize standard cleaning assignments to sanitize designated areas within buildings
• Report discrepancies and respond to emergencies and inclement weather
• Use standard housekeeping equipment for tasks including vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, and replenishing supplies
• Remove recycling from centralized indoor recycling sites
• Periodically strip and refinish floors, as well as shampoo and extract carpets
• Perform periodic pressure washing of entrances, exterior walls, and windows
• Conduct seasonal window washing as necessary

Must be able to lift 30 lbs frequently and up to 60 lbs occasionally, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be able to grasp, push and pull cleaning equipment. Must be able to reach to perform cleaning duties above shoulders. Job requires frequent bending and squatting. Must be able to distinguish between colors. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and the public. Must be able to follow instructions and other communications regarding assignments and other matters. Experience of performing housekeeping duties.

Salary - $18 / hr. Duration of Assignment may vary depending on business demand (3-11 months).
