Position Summary :
Performs primary clerical and other duties as assigned under the direction of the RN on the nursing units.
Major Position Responsibilities :

- Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
- Facilitation of unit communication including telephone and answering patient call lights.
- Maintenance of unit supplies.
Qualifications :
- Previous clerical experience required (at least one (1) year of healthcare and / or hospital unit secretary preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and charting abbreviations preferred
Education :
High School diploma or GED, required.
Certification :
Certificate from recognized Unit Secretary course desirable.
Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work.
- Salary / Hourly Wage range based on experience.
