Finance Clerk
JOB SUMMARY :
Performs a range of general clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping support functions in an organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
General accounts receivable functions :
- Prepare and submit customer invoices
- Code, post and receipt payments
- Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations
- Monitor customers accounts for non payment and delayed payment
General accounts payable functions :
- Check, verify and process invoices
- Sort, code and enter accounts payable data
- Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
- Maintain vendor files
General support functions :
- Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records
- Assist in month end reporting procedures
- Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies
- Assist with owner expense reports
- Perform filing and general administrative tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED :
Receives supervision from the Finance Manager. Position has no formal assigned supervisory responsibility or authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
The principal duties of this position are performed in an office environment. Works standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time while working on a daily basis.
Sits, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls and pushes while performing job duties. Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY :
This position is subject to the De La Paz Cleaning and Rental Service LLC, Drug Free Workplace Policy which includes : Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and / or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education and Experience :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 - 2 years experience in clerical accounting
- Associate degree in business or accounting an advantage
- MS Office and knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks / NetSuite)
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
- Solid computer literacy
- QuickBooks online experience is a must.
- Must pass a background check.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Effective interpersonal / communication skills.
- Ability to understand written and verbal communications.
- Knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of financial management
- Knowledge of software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
