The Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day care of Community residents, which may include supervising, directing and developing direct care teammates. This position reports to the Director of Nursing to ensure quality resident care. Unit Managers are responsible for being the liaison between residents and their families, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory standards, and following company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities :
- Maintaining and restoring health of resident through compassionate and quality care.
- Acting as a main point of contact between residents and their families.
- Addressing and preventing concerns from family members; raising concerns to the DON or other Community leadership, as needed.
- Assists in developing, implementing and making adjustments to resident care plans, as needed.
- Supervises, counsels, and provides discipline, when necessary, to direct care teammates.
- Ensures their unit meets federal and state regulatory standards, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and other appropriate personnel to plan for and maintain resident care.
- Completes admission and discharge assessments.
- Oversees and audits changes made to care plans.
- Delivers hands-on care and medicine distribution, as needed.
- Audits and completes charting, evaluations, medical forms, and other administrative tasks.
- Identifies procedural problems and works with the Director of Nursing to resolve concerns.
- Evaluates, prioritizes and meets the care needs of each resident.
- Foster teamwork with co-workers, show initiative in overcoming obstacles, take actions that assist others beyond job responsibilities, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
- Seek out and perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications :
A nursing degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved RN program.Three years of experience as an RN; prior experience as a Charge Nurse preferred.Eligible to participate in federally funded health care programs.Must also meet state requirements for relevant licensures or certifications and have no disciplinary action in effect against professional license.Benefits :
