Buyside Business Development Analyst / Associate

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Associate, or VP, to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in sourcing buy-side deals, leveraging their sales acumen and market understanding to identify and engage potential investment opportunities. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of the investment banking landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and source potential buy-side deals for private equity clients through market research, networking, and targeted outreach.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals, including but not limited to business owners, financial advisors, and other stakeholders.
- Execute inside sales strategies to engage and qualify prospects, leading to successful deal origination.
- Collaborate with the investment banking team to evaluate deal feasibility and support transaction execution.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market trends, industry challenges, and investment opportunities.
- Achieve targeted goals and contribute to the overall success of the investment banking team.
- Cold outreach and prospecting with a heavy reliance on cold calling.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of experience in inside sales, preferably within the financial services, investment banking, or private equity sectors, but not required.Prior success in cold calling (door to door sales, etc.) is instrumental.Prior successful experience in having outreach and sales success being tracked through KPIs and monthly and quarterly reviews.Demonstrated ability to effectively source deals and drive business development initiatives.Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to assess complex information and provide strategic recommendations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining professional relationships.Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred but open to all majors.Compensation
The first year On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position is $120,000+, comprising a base salary plus performance-based incentives with uncapped commission opportunity. This role's compensation is heavily weighted towards commission and performance bonuses. We are looking for a killer sales person with an "eat what you kill mentality" looking to take on an exciting challenge. Grit and determination are key to being successful in this role.Work Model
