Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources Manager will be a key member of the HR leadership team, responsible for both day-to-day HR operations and strategic HR business partnering with assigned departments or business units. This role will lead and oversee HR functions such as payroll administration, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and performance management, while supporting workforce planning and employee engagement initiatives. Ideal candidates will be hands-on HR generalists who thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and are skilled in balancing operational responsibilities with strategic business partnership.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee and ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for assigned departments or locations.
- Manage benefits administration, including enrollments, renewals, and employee inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Maintain employee records, HRIS data accuracy, and documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Partner with the VP of HR and HR Operations team to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for corporate, retail, or warehouse positions, including job postings, interviews, and offer management.Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and ensure effective talent acquisition strategies.Coordinate and conduct employee onboarding and orientation programs to drive engagement from day one.Employee Relations & Business Partnering
Serve as an HR Business Partner for assigned departments, providing guidance on employee relations, performance, and organizational matters.Coach and support managers on performance management, corrective actions, and employee development.Collaborate with leadership to promote a positive, "People First" work culture aligned with company values.Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.HR Projects & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the design and implementation of HR policies, programs, and initiatives that support company growth and compliance.Partner cross-functionally to support HR system upgrades, training programs, and process improvement initiatives.Assist with audits, reporting, and HR analytics to drive data-informed decision-making.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.8+ years of HR generalist or HR management experience, with strong exposure to payroll, benefits, and recruitment.Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or HR lead in a multi-site retail, grocery, distribution, or manufacturing environment.Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English required to communicate effectively with clients and partners.Strong understanding of California and multi-state employment laws.Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar).Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work onsite full-time and collaborate with field leaders across locations.
