EHS Manager

Industry leading food manufacturer in the Fort Atkinson, WI area is seeking an EHS Manager to lead and champion all safety and environmental initiatives within their dynamic food manufacturing facility. This role is critical in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs with a primary focus on ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, preventing injuries, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations (OSHA, EPA, FDA considerations where applicable). The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader passionate about fostering a proactive safety culture and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance, specifically tailored to the unique challenges of food production.

Key Responsibilities :

• Safety Program Leadership & Management :

Develop, implement, manage, and continuously improve site-specific safety policies, procedures, and programs (e.g., Lockout / Tagout (LOTO), Machine Guarding, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Forklift Safety, Electrical Safety).

Manage environmental programs related to air emissions, wastewater discharge, storm water management (SWPPP), spill prevention (SPCC), and waste management (hazardous and non-hazardous).

Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, air quality) as needed.

Develop and deliver engaging EHS training programs for new hires and existing employees, ensuring comprehension and compliance. Maintain training records.

Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) department to ensure EHS policies (e.g., chemical handling, sanitation safety) align with and support food safety standards (GMPs, HACCP).

Maintain accurate and organized EHS records, permits, and documentation.
