Position Impact :
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of a warehouse, including receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking, and filling orders, packing and shipping orders, and organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. They may use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move inventory, and may also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse. A warehouse assistant will also be responsible for conducting inventory counts, documenting inventory movements, and preparing reports for management. They must have strong attention to detail, be able to work in a team environment, and have good communication and organizational skills.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience :
- Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- A valid driver's license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check, is mandatory
- One to two years of experience working in a warehouse or similar environment can be helpful in understanding the duties and responsibilities of a warehouse assistant
- Familiarity with basic computer skills, such as using inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications, can be useful in performing some of the duties of a warehouse assistant
- Forklift certification : Some warehouse assistant positions may require a forklift certification, which can be obtained through training courses and testing
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English as the primary language used in the workplace
- Proficiency in Spanish Language is desirable

Receiving and Inspection :
Verifies and inspects the contents of incoming shipments against purchase orders, unpacking, and arranging items for storage, and recording and reporting any discrepanciesShipping and Receiving :
Coordinates with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and accurate shipments, preparing shipping documents, and loading and unloading trucksOrder Fulfillment and Returns :
Uses inventory management systems to locate and retrieve specific items from storage and packaging them for shipment to customersLocates, picks, and prepares products for shipment or delivery by reading orders, finding the products, verifying accuracy, and packaging them appropriatelyManages the process of preparing and shipping products to customers, including receiving and processing orders, picking, packing, and coordinating with carriersManages the cancellation and return process of orders from customers to ensure customer satisfactionOrganization and Inventory Control :
Counts, reconciles, replenishes and record keeps of physical inventory levels from back-up locationsManages incoming and outgoing inventory, ensures accurate record-keeping, and maintains warehouse organizationKeeps track of inventory levels and locations, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored in their designated locations, and keeping storage areas clean and organizedEquipment and Vehicle Operation :
Uses forklifts, hand dolly, electric dolly, pallet jack, and / or elevator to move and transport materials and inventory within the warehouseTransports goods and materials safely using a company vehicleMaintains vehicle / equipment pre-op / post-op to be prepared to perform required dutiesMaintains a clean driving record as defined by the current fleet insurance underwriterSafety Awareness and Compliance :
Observes hazards and reports any concerns or accidents to a supervisor or safety professional; participates in the investigation process as neededUnderstands, completes, and signs off all pre-job safety planning tools at the start and end of the shift; completes all required safety-related paperworkUnderstands and responds appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (e.g., back-up alarms, smell of smoke, fumes, odors, different colored warning tags, warning sirens)Upholds a secure work environment by adhering to regulations, procedures, and company policies, ensuring safety standards are consistently maintainedOther duties as assigned.
