Data Analytics Intern

This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the development of a robust data model that supports a key business domain within our organization. The intern will work closely with the Analytics and Data Engineering team to understand business requirements, explore existing data sources, and help design and implement scalable data pipelines and models.

The Mom's Meals Summer Internship Program is a paid project-based 12-week program beginning May 18, 2026, and ending August 7, 2026. Our project-based internship program provides participants with the training, coaching, and hands-on experience to be successful professionals in their chosen fields. Our internship assignments focus on practical, value added projects that help create a connection between what is learned in the classroom and what is required in the manufacturing and healthcare sectors.

This is an onsite position in our Ankeny, IA headquarters. Candidates should be local to the Des Moines / Ames, IA area since no relocation assistance or housing stipend is offered.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

• Understand the business domain and its analytical needs
• Identify and assess relevant data sources (internal and external)
• Assist in designing a logical and physical data model to support reporting and analytics
• Build and test data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and frameworks
• Document the data model and pipeline architecture for future reference and scalability
• Gain experience with data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema, normalization)
• Learn to use tools such as SQL, dbt, data bricks, and ADF
• Develop skills in data wrangling, transformation, and pipeline orchestration
• Understand how data engineering supports business decision-making
