Sr Procurement Manager

The Senior Procurement Manager is a member of the commodity management team and is responsible for $150M in direct spending. Your commodities will include chemicals used in plastic manufacturing, you will be responsible for developing vendor relationships and negotiating complex commodity procurement contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to develop and manage stakeholder relationships, finding a balance between the company’s needs and total value.
• Developing strong supplier relationships resulting in long-term value for the company. You will develop SRM programs to measure supplier performance.
• Implement strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Commodity Management includes developing commodity plans with suppliers that meet multi-years procurement plans. You will manage new supplier development plans to evaluate viable sources around the world that can meet service, cost, risk management and sustainability goals.
• Evaluate and manage risk profiles of the supply base, identify vulnerabilities and implement risk reduction plans.
• Manage the portfolio of sourcing initiatives to deliver cost reductions against multi-years cost savings targets using strategic sourcing programs.
• Ability to manage a team of 3-5 buyers and commodity managers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting or related fields required, M.B.A. preferred.
• Experience buying commodities in chemical manufacturing. Plastics manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Strong analytic skills and ability to develop technically complex procurement programs.
• Proven experience evaluating suppliers and building strong supplier bases.
• Strong understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and mathematics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel 20% of your time.
