Overview
Systems Engineer, Senior — Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Expert and Ansible Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical DoD network. This role involves architecting, configuring, automating, and managing secure Linux systems in a classified environment. You will develop and maintain Ansible automation for provisioning, patching, compliance, and configuration across multiple environments.
As a leader in systems engineering, you will solve complex challenges and shape our clients\' evolving capabilities by leading the management of a cross-domain solution. You\'ll influence design, development, and sustainment of systems with advanced technology solutions, and mentor others while expanding your skillset into areas like systems architecture with integrated CSfC capabilities.
What You\'ll Do
- Design, deploy, upgrade and maintain secure RHEL 8.10 / 9 / 10 environments in accordance with DoD STIGs.
- Develop, test, and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for automating system operations and compliance.
- Perform system hardening, patching, and remediation to meet DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Support system lifecycle activities, including upgrades, migrations, and integration with enterprise tools such as ACAS or HBSS.
- Provide tier 3 support, troubleshooting complex OS-level and application-layer issues in production and test environments.
- Document architecture, configurations, and automation workflows in internal CM tools.
- Collaborate with Cyber teams to ensure continuous Authorization to Operate (ATO) compliance.
- Work closely with network engineers and Dev teams to support CI / CD pipelines and secure deployments.
You Have
5+ years of experience with RHEL 8, 9, or 10 in enterprise or DoD environments3+ years of experience with Ansible, including Ansible Core, Ansible Tower, or AWXExperience with DoD STIGs, DoD SRGs, SCAP, and compliance automationExperience in Bash and Python scriptingExperience with system logging such as rsyslog or journald, SELinux, firewalld, and systemdExperience with CI / CD practices and infrastructure as code (IaC)Bachelor\'s degreeActive TS / SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph examDoD 8570 IAT Level II or III compliant certification such as Security+, CASP+, or CISSPNice If You Have

Compensation
Salary is determined by location, education, experience, and other factors. The projected compensation range is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
Work Model
Our people-first culture prioritizes flexibility and collaboration, whether in person or remotely. If listed as remote or hybrid, you may periodically work from a Booz Allen or client site facility. If onsite, you\'ll work in person with colleagues and clients as needed for the role.
