Description : Controller (Hybrid) – Architectural / Engineering / Construction

Location : New York City, NY

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM

Our client, a highly regarded architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a Controller to oversee the accounting function and serve as a key financial partner within the organization. About the Role :

We’re seeking a hands-on accounting professional who values collaboration, transparency, and an open-door leadership culture. The Controller will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, produce accurate financial statements, and partner closely with the firm’s external CPA.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable and receivable

Prepare and send invoices; follow up on outstanding balances

Handle payroll processing, including 1099 preparation

Perform bank reconciliations and journal entries

Prepare flash reports, profit & loss statements, and monthly financial statements in QuickBooks

Partner with leadership and external CPA on financial strategy and reporting

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel proficiency required

Industry experience within architecture, engineering, or construction highly preferred

Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
