Job description

Scheduler

Job Summary : We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Scheduler to coordinate patient appointments and ensure efficient scheduling within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, procedures, and follow-ups.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers to confirm availability and optimize scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update scheduling systems.
  • Handle patient inquiries regarding appointments and provide necessary information.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Work closely with insurance companies to verify patient coverage when needed.
  • Manage cancellations, reschedules, and urgent appointment requests.
  • Utilize scheduling software to track appointments and optimize workflow.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in healthcare administration preferred).
  • Previous experience in medical scheduling or healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in medical scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
