Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an experienced Paralegal / Legal Practice Assistant to join its New Castle, DE Insurance Defense group. The candidate will work 4 days on-site / 1 day remote from our office in New Castle.
Responsibilities :
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of insurance defense litigation.
- File legal documents with Delaware Courts in accordance with local rules.
- Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, discovery requests, medical summaries, etc.
- Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, and other meetings as assigned.
- Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all records are up to date and properly stored.
- Review and summarize medical records, and other case documentation.
- Provide litigation support, as needed.
- Will be responsible for meeting a daily time billing requirement.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements :
3+ years of experience in Insurance Defense litigation and Delaware law.Bachelor's degree and / or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization, preferred.Should have prior experience with time entries and billing experience to meet a daily billable hour requirement.Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload.Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.Ability to perform legal research, experience with Lexis a plus.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.Ability to work well independently and collaborate effectively in a team setting.Weber Gallagher is a thriving and growing firm with more than 130 legal professionals in 13 locations.
