Family and Community Services Director
Characteristics of Work
Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Head Start and Early Childhood Programs, the Family & Community Services Director is responsible for developing the team management system for effectively implementing and evaluating social services, parent involvement, and special projects services.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified by the Agency and / or as prescribed by the Vice President of Head Start and Early Childhood Programs.
Planning and Developing
Writes and updates the division work plan.
Develops and requests division budget based on identified needs.
Develops and maintains a recordkeeping system that ensures confidentiality.
Writes and updates job descriptions for family / community services staff.
Devises and implements plans to recruit parents and other community members as in-kind volunteers inside and outside of the center.
Recruit community partners and draft community partnership agreements, as needed, for approval by the Associate V.P. for Head Start & Early Childhood Programs.
Communicating
Devises and implements a comprehensive communications plan to support the recruitment of volunteers and in-kind contributions (see above).
Oversees the content of (and solicits content for) the parent newsletter and prepares program materials for distribution to staff and parents.
Serves on committees and boards of other organizations with related missions.
